What a special day this was for Matt & I to capture. I knew from the time they booked with us over a year ago that they would be such sweet clients to work with. Not only is Emily so beautiful on the outside, her kind and thoughtful nature makes her even more beautiful on the inside. And Rous… what a good and caring man! You can tell he adores Emily and loves their adventures together. I secretly always wanted to have a backyard wedding so when they told me a few details as they began to plan her day, I knew we had to be the ones to capture it. I loved getting to know their friends and family throughout the day and learning just how perfect they truly are for one another. The warmth we felt from everyone made us feel blessed to be a part of their day. Enjoy a little peek into this sweet backyard wedding. XO
And then the rain started…
Rous & Emily could not have been more relaxed with their change of plans. Instead of getting married under the giant tree in the backyard, they would have to move everyone into the adorable “chicken house” for the ceremony. Emily was so joyful even with the last minute changes. All they wanted was for their day to be magical… and I would say that is exactly what it was.
I loved how they wrote their own vows for each other and I am pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
They may not have been able to read their vows under this tree but they sure got to dance under it. What a magical moment.
